At the local cinema, a competition was held to see what Peace & Freedom meant to the schoolchildren of Vught.
The children depicted freedom with pictures and stories.
The winners of each age group received prizes on stage from Burgemeester Jan de Groot.
The veterans were called on stage and presented with a medal commemorating Operation Pheasant in 1944.
Another reception and a chance for the veterans to meet the people of vught again.
The whole occasion was enjoyed by all, the welcome given by the people of vught was overwhelming, something I will remember for the rest of my life. It made me feel even more proud of my Father and his 51st Highland Division comrades.
